Due Process Media is a video production group working at the forefront of the emerging legal practice called Video Mitigation. We use documentary as advocacy to tell human stories on behalf of clients within the criminal justice system.

Based out of Austin, Texas, we believe this work is especially important in a state where a “tough on crime” stance obscures unchecked state power, producing the largest prison population and number of death penalty executions in the U.S.

While a single video can never encapsulate a human life, our videos can mitigate the stigma clients face in a system that debilitates and dehumanizes. We advocate for the fair consideration of each client, presenting them as they are known by family, friends, and informed experts, with crucial psychosocial and historical context.

We have extensive experience collaborating with defense teams and a foundation of formal training within the field of mitigation. Additionally, we bring an artistic eye to our documentaries, highlighting emotional truth by weaving together archival material and interview.

Our videos and photography can be produced for both capital and non-capital cases, and our team is able to travel anywhere in the U.S. for production. We are also available to lead trainings and produce mission statement videos and other communications media for organizations centered around criminal justice reform.
